As the Home Building Construction Boom of the 1970’s and 80’s were occurring, the demand for a more practical and cost effective method for the exhausting and venting of home heating systems arose. Prefabricated Imitation Brick and Stone Chimney Systems were then invented, in which offered builders and designers an alternative method in channeling heating systems exhaust chimney flues safely up and through the roof, while costing a fraction of the price of having a brick or cement block chimney constructed, which requires a foundation and tedious masonry work. Throughout the years the imitation Chimney housings and components wear and fail, which then start leaking rain water into the home and sometimes hazardous fumes into human living space, and must be repaired or completely replaced.
